HISTORY
4 generation have passed since Mr. Antonio Beretta came from Italy in the early 1900’s, he settled down in Melilla, Montevideo, Capital city of Uruguay.
Nowadays, the Winery is managed by Oenologyst Leticia Villalba Beretta, his grand-grand-daughter.
VINEYARDS
They work 4 vineyards all around Melilla and Colón, in the country-side of Montevideo, all of them with microclimates and prIvileged grounds, each one has its own identification remembering the Founders of Beretta Family in Uruguay, “Viñedos Antonio Beretta”, “De los Angeles”, “Viejo Colón” y “Melilla”.
All the vineyards are planted with high espaliers, on sepecially grounds that give to our wines, an incredible gift. Also, they are controlled by very well-known Technicians and essentially by the owners, the Beretta’s. Every times looking for quality and no quantity of wine-production.
Prevailing varieties are Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Tannat, coming and growing from European roots.
Wine-making for the Beretta’s only take place when the harvest results good enough to have the virtue of expressing the best stocks, and each one is going to receive a specific name.
WINERY
The Winery was built by Antonio Beretta, the founder, between 1911 and 1913.
The familiar business found in their fittings, the perfect balance between Technological Improvements and old traditions in order to make the best wine.
Our winery has an incredible harmony between natural lighting, ventilation and functional character; concieved for someone who loved make wine and had a large experience doing it, Mr. Antonio Beretta.
